Librarians at Georgetown are here to help connect you to the information you need.  We offer many services in order to meet the information needs of a variety of different patrons, whether you are a student, a faculty or staff member, or the general public.  We can help you locate materials in our collections or at other libraries, use a variety of reference books, indexes, and databases, and can assist you in finding effective search strategies to streamline your research.

Reference Consultations

Reference librarians are available by appointment for one-on-one reference consultation and instruction.  These appointments allow the reference librarian to provide you with more personal, individualized assistance.

We ask that you schedule an appointment at least 2 weeks in advance to your assignment's due date so we have optimal time to deliver you the best service.

Reference by Email

The reference librarian will also answer questions submitted via email:

Questions will be answered within one business day, usually faster.

Text-A-Librarian

Ensor LRC also features a reference via text option. Whether on-campus or at home, you can submit your reference question by texting 502-799-4094 to contact a reference library. If during our regular business hours, the library will respond via text within two hours. If during our regular business hours, library staff will respond to inquiries the next business day.

Reference by Phone

We are also available to assist you over the phone. You can reach us Monday - Friday 8 AM - 9 PM by calling the library's circulation desk: (502) 863-8400 and asking to speak with a librarian.
