Summer Reading and Viewing: Cool Summer Reads

Ready for some summer fun, check out these resources

Books and eBooks

  • The Ensor Learning Resource Center has a selection of popular fiction and general interest nonfiction in addition to scholarly works. The LRC is open limited hours during the summer. You can access ebooks through the ENRC catalog ‪EBSCO Discovery Service‬‎
  • Your local public library's book collection. Public libraries often offer free summer programs for all ages in addition to the traditional lending services for books and DVDs. Some libraries also allow patrons to check out tools, cookware, passes to local attractions, etc.
  • Be open to serendipity, you can often discover interesting books by checking out the bookshelves at your family home and asking your friends and relatives. Browsing estate sales, garage sales, book sales, bookstores, and thrift stores can often lead to you stumbling across books that you might never have come across through other sources. I discovered the delightful novel A Guide to the Birds of East Africa by Nicholas Drayson because it was misfiled at a library booksale.
